The Rotary Club of Boerne sponsors the Fabra Elementary Early Act Club under the guidance of Rotarian Naomi Jendrusch. With the help of Kathy Webster, Certified Master Naturalist, approximately twenty Fabra students put native plants in 3 areas at their school this past month.
Given our Rotary's investment in projects that have sustainability, these native plants should weather the winters and summers to beautify Fabra Elementary for years to come. Additionally, there was the educational aspect thanks to our Certified Master Naturalist. The students learned a lot about what is good to plant locally, how to plant successfully, and how butterflies, bees and other pollinators interact with our environment.
