The Rotary Club of Del Rio, with the support of community partners, local organizations, and businesses from across the city, has donated a total of $20,000 to help two fire departments in Hunt and Center Point, Texas, recover from the severe flood damage that struck the region earlier this summer.
The funds were raised through the club’s Rotary Rally for Relief, a local initiative launched within a week of the historic flooding that devastated neighborhoods, displaced families, and heavily impacted emergency response infrastructure in several Central Texas communities.
Both the Hunt and Center Point Volunteer Fire Departments lost their fire stations during the floods. Recognizing the urgent need to restore emergency services in those areas, the Rotary Club of Del Rio quickly mobilized to raise funds to assist in their recovery. A $10,000 check was presented to each department to help them rebuild their fire stations, replace essential equipment such as fire trucks and protective gear, and resume operations as swiftly as possible.
