In August, I shared stories with the Rotary Clubs of Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, Ballinger, Uvalde and the Dominion. I am inspired by those great Rotarians and those pictured today who are making a difference in their communities.

We witness people in action providing scholarships to children and services to the needy both at home and around the world. We see the great work in Uvalde as our clubs work with one another including District 5300's (Las Vegas) After Hours Club which reached out to render aid to the families in Uvalde.

During August we had a great turnout for “everything you wanted to know about Rotary but were afraid to ask”, aka the Rotary Leadership Institute.  Your District leaders for next year attended training with fellow officers across the state to learn best practices.  Many hands are also working to provide a fantastic experience for you in Kerrville November 9-11.

September is Basic Education and Literacy Month. These are area many clubs in our District are very passionate about. During this month we reflect upon how we can strengthen basic education and literacy for all, while reducing gender disparity. I encourage you to let your fellow Rotarians know what you are doing by sharing your stories as proud Rotarians.

Join us on 24 October 2022, for World Polio Day as experts and partners share our progress on the road to end polio around the world. Please plan your own club’s polio project during the week of 24 October to magnify the importance of our efforts to eradicate this crippling disease.
