As we approach World Polio Day on October 24th, let’s take a moment to reflect on Rotary’s long-standing commitment to eradicating polio. This day is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and how critical it is to sustain our efforts until we reach our goal of a polio-free world. Every contribution, whether through advocacy, awareness, or financial support, brings us closer to ending polio once and for all.
Together, we can finish the fight and see the eradication of the wild polio virus in our lifetime. As we go through the month of October please use this as an opportunity to educate your fellow Rotarians and the public of the fact that Polio still exists and the effort we as Rotarians are making to work towards a Polio free world. Many of you have shared information about your Polio events with our District team and you can see those events on the flyer in this newsletter and on the website. To add a bit of fun to our efforts to raise funds to support the fight to End Polio we have a competition with District 5870 to see who can raise the most funds for Polio. Please be sure to promote your Polio events on social media, word of mouth and with local businesses so we can expand our reach.
On another note we would like to note the passing of long time Rotarian Rick Rhodes from the San Antonio Oak Hills Rotary Club. Rick was a Rotarian for 42 years and will be missed. Information on the services are as follows:
