The Dominion Rotary Club of San Antonio demonstrated its commitment to service and community appreciation by hosting a special cookout for the Leon Springs Fire Department and their families this March. In true Rotary fashion, club members rolled up their sleeves, fired up the grill, and spent the day serving hamburgers, sharing fellowship, and expressing gratitude to the first responders who protect the community every day.
The event was a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the firefighters and their families, who were delighted to be recognized in such a personal and meaningful way. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and filled with the spirit of Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self.

“Our club wanted to do something hands‑on to show our appreciation,” members shared. “These men and women put their lives on the line for us, and taking the time to serve them — literally — felt like the right way to give back.”

The Leon Springs Fire Department expressed sincere gratitude for the visit, noting how much it meant to have the community show up for them and their families. The event strengthened the bond between the department and the Rotary Club, reinforcing the importance of supporting those who serve on the front lines.

The Dominion Rotary Club continues to champion community engagement through service projects, youth programs, and partnerships that uplift and strengthen the San Antonio area.
