The Dominion Rotary Club proudly announces the overwhelming success of its annual holiday fundraiser benefiting the children of Methodist Children’s Hospital. Held on Thursday, November 20th at the H‑E‑B in Leon Springs, the community event—organized in partnership with the San Antonio Fire Department—drew strong support from local residents and businesses.
Throughout the day, volunteers from the Dominion Rotary Club, firefighters from SAFD, and generous community members came together to donate a significant number of new toys and monetary contributions. The outpouring of support ensures that children receiving care at Methodist Children’s Hospital will experience comfort, joy, and holiday cheer during a challenging time.
In addition to supporting pediatric patients, a portion of the donated toys will also benefit the 502nd Force Support Group at Joint Base San Antonio. The 502nd FSG provides essential installation support and services that enhance the quality of life for military personnel and their families. These toy donations will help ensure that military families—especially those facing financial strain due to deployments or demanding mission requirements—can give their children a joyful Christmas.
“This year’s turnout exceeded every expectation,” said Danny Nino, President of the Dominion Rotary Club. “We are deeply grateful for the compassion and generosity shown by our community. These donations will brighten the holidays for so many children, and they also highlight the incredible impact that collective service can have.”
The presence and partnership of the San Antonio Fire Department helped elevate visibility, bringing families and passers‑by to learn more about the needs of pediatric patients and the vital role Methodist Children’s Hospital plays in the region. Firefighters engaged with supporters, assisted in collecting toys, and helped raise awareness for the cause.
The fundraiser not only provided essential gifts and financial help for the hospital’s young patients and local military families but also strengthened community understanding of the Dominion Rotary Club’s ongoing commitment to service.
