The Rotary Club of Medina County is busy with two separate fall fundraising events. Our annual raffle helps support our Bountiful Blessing Thanksgiving meal for senior citizens and veterans and our Share the Joy Christmas event providing meals and gifts for needy families. Only 1600 tickets are being sold for $10 each with an assortment of prizes - see flyer; drawing will take place on November 29th and winners notified within one day.
The second fundraiser is a new one for us this year. We are hosting the God's Country BBQ Cookoff, a Champions Barbecue Alliance sanctioned competition. The event will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 20th-21st, at the Medina Fair Hall located at 733 FM 462 N, in Hondo, TX. Sponsorships and team registrations will provide funding for the event itself with all proceeds being used to provide additional scholarships, beyond our existing ones, for area students.
