Rotary Club of San Antonio has deep roots in Fiesta with many kings among its ranks. We’re honored that our Past President Gardner Peavy was crowned this year as the 102nd King Antonio and embarks on a busy week of giving back to our community. Past Rotarians who served as King Antonio date back to 1929 with Jack Beretta; and others through the years include Past President Porter Loring, Jr.,in 1975 and Marshall Clegg in 1990.
King Antonio began as a way to honor the fallen heroes of The Alamo in 1927, and the Texas Cavaliers River Parade began in 1941 attracting thousands of revelers to our city’s River Walk. The Texas Cavaliers Foundation has donated more than $25 million to more than 200 charities, providing hope for worthy causes in our city. Viva Fiesta and Viva Rotary!
