Fredericksburg Rotary Club is celebrating the completion of rainwater catchment tanks, toilets, hand washing facilities and incinerators for sanitary napkins at seven public schools in Katoma, Tanzania.
The photos are of a rainwater catchment tank and toilet facilities at one of the schools. Clean water and hygiene facilities will reduce water-borne illnesses in children and teachers at the schools. Academics will be improved at the schools due to fewer absences for illnesses, less time waiting in line for a toilet and less time spent fetching water from a stream. Thanks to Canyon Lake, Ballinger, Pleasanton and Downtown New Braunfels Rotary Clubs for donating money to this project during this Rotary year.
