Jana Brockmann, Fredericksburg Rotary Club's Exchange Student for 2017-2018, enjoyed her first "muscle car" ride as part of the fun at the Fredericksburg Rotary Club Sponsored Annual City-wide Homecoming Party on Sept 22.  Jana is a scheduled speaker at the Fredericksburg Rotary Club's Sept. 25th noon meeting.

The city-wide homecoming fundraising event is co-sponsored by the Fredericksburg Rotary Club and the Fredericksburg ISD as part of the Club's Community Service function.  The event was located and next to the FISD football stadium on the High School Lawn.   Held annually on "Homecoming Friday", the event features a carnival like atmosphere with fun attractions that appeal to students.  Shown to the right is Club President Elect Joe Cavanaugh in his sporty face painted "nose stripe" and winning smile.

All profits from the annual homecoming day fundraising party go to the club's scholarship fund which provides for educational scholarships for Frederickburg area students.  Students must apply for scholarships each year.  Awards are not limited to college bound students only but also includes students entering certificate programs for any kind of trades and skills.

This year's event was sponsored by Club Community Service Chair, Dave Miller.  Working with Miller as Homecoming Event Co-Chairs were Jody Donalson, past club President and Mike Weberpal, club Fundraising Chair.   Also heavily involved were the High School Interact Club and the FISD Superintendent, Dr Eric Wright, Frederickburg Morning Rotary Club.
