Students at seven public schools in Katoma, Tanzania, were trained in making liquid soap this month by the Karagwe Rotary Club.
The soap will be used by students and teachers at the schools and also sold in the community to earn money to purchase additional soap making supplies for the schools.  This sustainable project was initiated by the Fredericksburg Rotary Club when a Club member noticed that students were not using soap to wash their hands in videos of the new toilets and hand washing facilites our Rotary Clubs sponsored.  Jovin Bifabusha, Treasurer of the Karagwe Rotary Club and the project manager, organized Interact Clubs at the schools, purchased supplies and led the training.
