On November 8th, 2019 the Kerrville Rotary Club hosted its fourth Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. The breakfast of consisted of free breakfast, the local color guard presenting the colors, local Rotarians sharing breakfast with our Veterans and Thank You notes from local elementary schools for the Veterans. “The notes will make you cry,” said event organizer, Donna Peterson.
The cards are heartwarming and a favorite part for the Veterans at the last couple breakfasts. When the Rotarians first started getting together with the schools to write the thank you notes, the teachers noticed that a large number of students did not even know what the term Veteran meant. So, they now use it as a teaching lesson about Veterans and why we are thanking them.  HEB has also donated a gift card to be used towards every breakfast that the club has hosted so far.  It is amazing to see so many Rotarians come out and support our Veterans.  Those in attendance numbered around 200 including the volunteers.   Any food left over after the breakfast was donated to the local police station.
