This is a major fundraiser for Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club. Proceeds from last year's walk/run funded many literacy and academic projects, including donations like these from last year’s event: $6K to Dolly Parton Imagination Library, $17K to FISD Foundation, $2.5K to Bob Hickerson Scholarship Fund and $15.5K for Vocational Scholarships.
All registered runners/walkers will receive a long-sleeved technical race shirt, and medallions will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group, for each timed race. Plus, the fastest man and woman finisher in each timed race receive an engraved Yeti tumbler. Register at www.oktoberfestkrautrun.com.
Oktoberfest Kraut Run is a family friendly event, with room to push strollers. Those riding in strollers do not need to be registered. Family pets on a leash are also welcome. If you have a dirndl or lederhosen, we encourage you to wear them at our event!
The races will be held on Saturday, October 3rd with start/finish at the Fredericksburg ISD Campus at 110 W. Travis St. across from Coach Tony Knopp Town Pool.
A post-race celebration features traditional race snacks and beverages plus sausage, sauerkraut and beer. Early packet pickup will be held Friday, October 2nd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the pool on 105 W. Travis as well.
Race-day registration and check-in will start at 7:00 a.m. and races start at 8:30 a.m. Race-day registration is allowed. Oktoberfest Kraut Run will make a best effort to match shirt sizes for athletes registering September 21st through the day of the race.
