Members of the Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch and the Rotary Club of San Antonio South joined more than 1,000 volunteers July 17–19 to celebrate Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio Guadalupe Valley’s 50th anniversary by helping complete a home in just 50 hours. Rotarians assisted with building wall frames and landscaping alongside volunteers from across the community.
Despite weather-related delays, the home was completed with only 30 minutes remaining on the countdown clock. The project concluded with a home blessing and an emotional welcome for future homeowner Yadira Salas, whose gratitude reminded volunteers of the lasting impact of service. The home is the first in Methodist Meadows, a 35-home neighborhood made possible through a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Methodist Healthcare Ministries, exemplifying Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self.
