The Rotary Club of Boerne, meeting at noon on Fridays, has supported the Boerne community through service projects and grants before and throughout the COVID era.. The Club proudly supports important projects and initiatives like the Boerne Strong Program, BISD student scholarships, local food and health nonprofits, and many more.
The members of the Rotary Club of Boerne have been faithful in many regular service projects to local organizations too. The primary fundraiser that allows the Rotary Club of Boerne to support their community is Casino Night coming up on April 9th. This year there will be bingo in addition to the usual casino games, buffet dinner, and open bar. It's sure to be a fun night for a good cause! Tickets are $100 and can be purchased online at boernerotary.org. Recently the Rotary Club of Boerne was voted Best Nonprofit of the year by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. The Rotary Club of Boerne also has interesting speakers each week. Recently, Dr. Aldon Williams spoke about "post viral syndrome", Monty Chamberlain shared a very successful program of businesses hiring employees with special needs, Craig Hensley of the TPWD spoke about native birds, and Rich Sena of the BISD School Board shared developments in the schools. Some speakers for March include Jim Daniell of the Angel Flight South Central team, Joe Wiegand of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, and Paul Giguere of the Kendall County Behavioral Health Initiative.
