Today, we pause to recognize and thank a remarkable group of individuals—our veterans. These men and women stood up when their country called, often at great personal s Day Presentationsacrifice, to defend freedoms and values we all hold dear.
Each veteran’s story is unique---shaped by different branches, different duties, and different eras. But all share a common thread: a commitment to something greater than self. They endured separation from family, faced uncertainty, and served with courage and honor—not for recognition, but because they believed in duty, service, and country.

In Rotary, we often speak of “Service Above Self.” That phrase perfectly describes the spirit of our veterans. They’ve lived it---through action, sacrifice, and example. As Rotarians we strive to serve our communities and bring peace to the world. Our veterans remind us that peace is not merely the absence of conflict---it is the result of courage, commitment, and compassion.

To all our veterans---we thank you. Your service continues to inspire us to Unite for Good, to strengthen our communities, and to honor the freedoms your service has protected. We are deeply grateful.

So, Rotarians, please join me in offering our veterans the recognition that they have earned---with our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
