On Friday, June 18 the Rotary Club of San Marcos had a Rise Against Hunger Dinner at First Christian Church in San Marcos. The ingredients that are packaged and shipped overseas by RAH were the basis of the meal, so Rotarians could experience a meal similar to what food recipients experience.
There was also discussion about hunger and malnutrition in the world.   The cost was $5, most of which was a donation to help fund the club's RAH event on Saturday, October 16. RAH meals cost about 35 cents each, so surprisingly, $5 will buy more than 10 meals. Three members of the SM Rotary Club attended a RAH event in Bastrop, sponsored by clubs in District 5870.
