The service theme of San Marcos Rotary in October is to Help The Hungry. The club plans activities that will benefit food insecure people locally, county-wide, and internationally.

On October 19, for the fourth year, the club will sponsor a Rise Against Hunger event using 150 volunteers to pack 15,000 food packages that will provide 90,000 meals.
All month the club is raising funds for San Marcos School Food and the Hays County Food Bank. School Fuel is a local nonprofit that provides bags of food to K-11 school children on weekends and holidays when they don't have access to school meals. The Food Bank provides free food to food insecure people of all ages throughout the country.
