The Rotary Club of Del Rio has partnered with the Del Rio Parks and Recreation Department to make numerous improvements to Rotary Park. This included projects such as installing a very popular splash pad to offer water fun for kids of all ages, purchasing playground equipment for children of all abilities, installing two park benches, renovating the restroom facilities, planting shrubs & trees, and installing water fountains.

Other work done in the park included the installation of two recycling containers, in the shape of fish, and adding steps from the Special Needs playground to the restroom. The club also had ROTARY PARK signs and emblems installed at the entrances to the park.

All of the projects were partially funded by a grant from Rotary District 5840. Without the support of the District, they would not have come to fruition. Two Rotarians who have been instrumental in making improvements at the park include Past Assistant Governor/current Treasurer Fred Bowers (in the photo) and Assistant Governor Gloria Wilson.
