A joint partnership between Rotary Club of San Antonio and clubs in Belfast, Dublin, and The Hague, Netherlands, along with the Corrymeela Community, brought 87 students from 18 countries together in Northern Ireland for an intensive summer session of the year-long “Nurturing Hope Peace Academy.” The group not only spans across the globe but crosses generations in a dialogue about what it takes to promote peace in our world. San Antonio had the largest contingency in the cohort with 22 students, followed by Korea with 18.

This program was made possible by our partnership of 40+ International Rotary, and a $160,000 international Rotary global grant. We have High Hopes about spreading peace in an increasingly challenging world through the Nurturing Hope program.
Special thanks to club members Jack McGuire and JC Clapsaddle for their part in creating this unique program, along with founding members Rotary club of Belfast, Northern Ireland: president Ken Nixon; Rotary club of Dublin: president Eamonn Allen and Director of peace programming Delma Sweeney; Rotary club of the Hague Metropolitan: International Director Gordon Graham, and organizers from the Corrymeela Center in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland.
