This month, Rotary Club of San Antonio Northwest welcomed Cindy Urshan, Rotary Club of San Antonio VP of Communications and Young Members Board of Directors, to share her Four Way Testimonial and impact as Community Relations and Outreach Development Director for PAM Health Rehabilitation and Specialty Hospitals.
Cindy spoke to her legacy of transformational kindness and resilience, beginning with her Father’s neighborhood gatherings at Wrigley Field to share food, clothes and books during the Great Depression to his lifesaving Heart Transplant in the same ICU where she began her nursing career.

“I was inspired to become a Nurse because of my Father, and a Rotarian because of my Mother,” she said. “Growing up, I was always in awe of her stories of resilience from living with childhood polio; she continues to inspire me everyday with her spirit in overcoming post-poliomyelitis. I am so grateful to be part of our amazing global service organization whose mission to #EndPolioNow is helping ensure Children across the World can live a life free of this debilitating, lifelong condition.”
