World Food Day is October 15. San Marcos Rotary, partnering with Rotarians in Wimberley and Kyle, plan three events and need volunteers or donations of food or cash.
1. The clubs will package 14,250 meals for Rise Against Hunger on October 15, from 9 to noon at First Lutheran Church, 130 W. Holland St., San Marcos. Individuals can volunteer or donate at http://events.riseagainsthunger.org/sanmarcos2022
2. The clubs also hope to raise $5,000 and collect nonperishable food for the Hays County Food Bank.
3. San Marcos Rotary also hopes to make a $5,000 donation to School Fuel, a program in San Marcos that provides needy children with food for weekends and holidays when school meals are not served.
