We invite you to join fellow D5840 Rotarians in a Thanksgiving Day Service Project. We are partnering with Meals on Wheels Texas to deliver warm greetings and Thanksgiving meals to the elderly and disabled population in our communities.
As you may have heard or read, there are a couple of major District 5840 PolioPlus fundraising initiatives. The one described here is the sales and purchase of PolioPlus themed Christmas cards for a donation $10.00.
Fredericksburg Morning Rotary has donated $5000 to Mision De Candelilla for the purpose of purchasing a slightly used Ultrasound machine to aid in their medical clinics in Mexico. Rotary District 5840 also donated $5000 to bring the total to $10,000 to complete the purchase.
The Rotary Club of Del Rio has partnered with the Del Rio Parks and Recreation Department to make numerous improvements to Rotary Park. This included projects such as installing a very popular splash pad to offer water fun for kids of all ages, purchasing playground equipment for children of all abilities, installing two park benches, renovating the restroom facilities, planting shrubs & trees, and installing water fountains.
Kerrville Rotary will once again host a Veterans' Breakfast event on Nov. 6 at the Hill Country Veterans Center to honor our local active military and military veterans in advance of Veterans' Day.

The Randolph Metrocom Rotary Club sponsored the Tri-County Chamber mixer, which was held on Thursday, October 22nd at The Hilton Garden Inn in Live Oak.
San Antonio Rotary Club donated and packaged over 300 bags of candy for our friends at Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA). CASA Volunteers and Staff will hand these out on Halloween to the children they help.
The Winston Interact Club celebrated Polio Free World Day on Friday, October 23, 2020. The Club set up a Polio Information Display the week leading up to Polio Free World Day and collected $200 for the polio drive.
The Blanco Coalition of Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment of Substance Abuse (CoAPT), in partnership with the Blanco County Rotary Club, recently presented Blanco High School Principal Patrick Hinson a check for $9,000 for the purpose of purchasing vape detectors for the high school.
San Antonio Rotary Club members gathered this last Saturday to sort jeans and package hygiene to hand out to the homeless served by Corazon Ministries.
Members of Fredericksburg Morning Rotary, the City of Fredericksburg, Kraftsman Commercial Playgrounds and Waterparks, and the community gathered at the groundbreaking for a new playground at Old Fair Park.
Alamo Heights Night 2021, an official Fiesta event, is scheduled on the first Friday night of San Antonio Fiesta 2021 on April 16. It is not to early for any of our Rotary Districts' Clubs to sign up for a booth at the event. Details are on our event website, www.alamoheightsnight.org .With the cancellation of Fiesta 2020, the annual Alamo Heights Night in 2020 was also cancelled.
