A Rotary Story “Dinner With Rotary friend Yale “Buzz” Trustin and His Wife Litzie Trustin”. You never knew who you may be sitting with at a Rotary event. In fact, I would say every single member in Rotary is important. We need all people of different ages, background, gender, race, cultural, experiences and ability to form an amazing organization. This is a story of one such Rotarian (mentor) whom I learned so much.
The Winston School Interact Club helped set up for the St. Nicholas Ball, a Catholic Charities fundraiser at the J.W. Marriott Resort on December 2nd & 3rd, 2022.
Students at Travis Elementary in San Marcos had a fundraiser to collect money for a Travis Scholarship that would be awarded in the spring to a San Marcos high school senior who had attended Travis.

While there, participants enjoy a lunch with members the Rotary club of Piedras Negras.
Rotary Club of New Braunfels recently completed their newest service project, Making Spirits Bright – a holiday giving program that provided Christmas gifts and meals to local families in need.
"Service Over Self" isn't just a motto for the Boerne Noontime Rotarians. It's a guiding principle and why they host "Breakfast With Santa" every year. This December over 100 children enjoyed a great meal cooked by Rotarians, decorated cookies, and got to visit with Santa and take home a special gift purchased by the Boerne Noontime Rotarian "Elves".
Approximately 300 local families received a freshly prepared whole turkey dinner thanks to the Annual Turkey Fry conducted by the Christian Men of Boerne and Hill Country Family Services. The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch is always honored to participate in this wonderful event to assist those in need in the Boerne and surrounding area.
On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, the Rotary Club of San Antonio Pearl joined with young volunteers from local Antonian High School to hand out food, including plates of lasagna and salad, as well as essentials, such as feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, and blankets.
Another successful year of giving was wrapped up by the Rotary Club of San Antonio South. The club sponsored four families from the local Pre-K for SA school, with presents for the families' children and a $125 H-E-B gift card for the parents. The evening included Santa Claus and dinner.
Rotary Club of New Braunfels recently completed an international wellness trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico, where they checked the health and wellness of 40 local children at two local schools, and provided them with Christmas gifts.
Fredericksburg-Nimitz club members Mike Strolle and Jimmy Culp continue their work on the Hill Country Needs Council project helping to make a manufactured home accessible for a young mother of 5 confined to a wheelchair. They finished work on the ramp in the front of the trailer and are now working on a deck for the back side.
What a great day! Blue Santa 2022! KPD and the KCPAAA, the Kerrville Rotary Club and other amazing volunteers came together to make Christmas better for many Hill Country families!
