Season’s Greetings: December Is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month
Did you know that over 800 million people (almost 12 percent of the world’s population) spent at least 10 percent of their household budgets to pay for health care? Also, more than 100 million people are pushed into poverty each year because of medical costs. As Rotarians, we aim to improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care, especially in underdeveloped areas.
Some brands are recognized around the world just by their logos. When people see the logo, they instantly know what it means and what to expect from the product. Building that kind of visual recognition requires effort, including years of using a logo widely and consistently. Companies work at this because earning that global recognition benefits their business.
As you may have heard or read, there are a couple of major District 5840 PolioPlus fundraising initiatives. The one described here is the sales and purchase of PolioPlus themed Christmas cards for a donation $10.00.
By now you probably heard of the district wide initiative to build 100 mini libraries around the district. Here are the steps and activities needed to build and install a mini library. See the photo above showing what installation was like for Alamo Ranch at Gardopia.
Calling all Rotarians! The first mission for the Rotary Super Hero Challenge is to "Strenthen the Rotary Brand". The test is to create your Club's Rotary Masterbrand logo. Texas Veterans Commission Chairperson Laura Koerner served as the guest speaker at the annual Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary Club Veterans’ Day Salute on November 11th. at the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club.

The Rotary Club of Kerrville - Morning recently provided lunch for the interns, staff and volunteers at the Christian Women’s Job Corps, Kerr County (CWJC). Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Rotarians were unable to join the interns for the meal.
