During September we celebrate Basic Education and Literacy Month. In District 5840 all our clubs have amazing service projects in this Rotary Area of Focus!
District 5840 selects the next District Governor in October each year. We are actively looking for Rotary leaders to serve in this critical role for Rotary. This year we will select the person to serve as Governor for the Rotary year beginning July 1,2024. Persons eligible to be Governor must have served a full term as President of a Rotary Club and have been a Rotarian for seven years.

Gordon R. McInally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, Lothian, Scotland, is the selection of the Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International for 2023-24. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested.
McInally lauded Rotary’s ability to adapt technologically during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the approach should continue and be combined with the best of our past practices as Rotary seeks to grow and increase engagement.

The Rotary Club of San Marcos and the Mision de Candelilla (MdC) in Fredricksburg partnered on August 27 to pack and deliver school supplies for children in seven impoverished villages in Mexico as an international project.

Rotarians in Seguin have a long history of providing community grants within Guadalupe county. Normally through fund raising, the club awards 10 to 12 grants per year. It is indeed a tradition, that the Grants Committee and Club Members strive to focus on, year after year.
The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch recently partnered with the Boerne Independent School District, and a variety of community supporters, to conduct a back-to-school Resource Rally. Club members assisted in serving approximately 400 students; ensuring they had the counseling and resources needed for a successful start to the new school year.

This morning 25 members of Kerrville noon, satellite and Interact kids from Tivy along with friends and family met under the bridge of Louise Hayes park and picked up a full bag of trash each, along the path up to Lehmann Park.
