I am writing this message from Houston, the site of the 2022 Rotary International Convention.How appropriate it is that June's theme is Fellowship. I have just spent 6 days with Rotarians from throughout the world united in fellowship. These members are diverse, smart, of varying ages and backgrounds and have shown compassion for others and passion for Rotary. All have displayed a united theme and it is "Serve to Change Lives."
The horror of the May 24 shooting at Robb Elementary School in the community of Uvalde has been felt around the world, and Rotarians everywhere have reached out to the Rotary Club of Uvalde and District 5840 asking where they can send donations which will go towards healing.
In response, and in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Uvalde, our Rotary District 5840 has set-up a Uvalde Community Relief Fund within our 501c3 foundation. The purpose of this fund will be to assist and comfort, where possible, those who are grieving and who are most affected by the shooting as well as to aid in the restoration of the shattered world view of the children, families, educators, and first responders of Uvalde.

Alamo Heights Night 2022, our 34th Fiesta Event, is now history. After a two year hiatus because of the Pandemic, everyone was ready to party. It was a fabulous time for everyone.
The annual Texas STAAR tests are test that are distributed to students at the end of the school year. The STAAR tests can be a strain on students and educators.
On April 27, Joseph, Sergio, Tom, and Kim of the Airport Rotary Club along with three guests from Credit Human joined many other volunteers at the Daily Bread Ministries warehouse to help Snack Pak 4 Kids San Antonio pack food packages for students at San Antonio elementary schools. San Saba, Texas – The local Rotary Club of San Saba held its 40th annual Honor Student Banquet to recognize academically high-achieving students from Cherokee, Richland Springs, and San Saba ISDs.

Utilizing the First Tee's certified curriculum, David Murrah (PGA), and other members of Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary, meet weekly with at-risk youth in the Boerne area to impart golf and life skills designed to equip and inspire them towards a brighter future.
For the past nine (9) years, Stone Oak Rotary (SORC) has been privileged to have the opportunity to support and encourage a new group of students each year. Our goal is to improve the wellness of the students, as well as boost school attendance, which will enable the faculty and staff to provide the educational support and guidance to hopefully a larger population and enhance the Rotary focus on Literacy.
Members of the Airport Rotary club met at the San Antonio Independent School District's "Book Buddies World Headquarters" in Port San Antonio to help sort donated books.
Oak Hills Rotarians volunteered on May 14th for the San Antonio Food Bank on site at the Haven for Hope community kitchen. Prepped 1,000 sandwiches and served cheese enchilada plates to 302 guests of Haven For Hope.
Members of San Antonio Northwest Rotary Club were at Dellview Elementary School (NEISD) on May 25 to award students participating in the Club’s CHANGE program.
