On December 7, the Del Rio Rotary Club supported the telethon sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cd. Acuña, Mexico. This fundraiser helps support the Club in distributing toys and food commodities to the colonias surrounding the city.

In spite of a recent artic cold front, some Fair Oaks Ranch Rotarians collected food from the Fair Oaks HEB to deliver to the food bank at the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries. This is part of the weekly service project the FOR Rotary Club has been undertaking for almost a year now.
Members from the Boerne High School Interact Club with support from the Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club volunteered during winter break at Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries (HCDBM) in Boerne. The Interactors were tasked with sorting “expired” bread and pastries items donated by HEB for distribution to local farmers and an animal rehabilitation center. Each food item was unwrapped and placed accordingly into large cardboard bins.

The Rotary Club of Blanco County gathered three truck loads of coats, jackets and blankets from the Blanco County community to help keep those in need stay warm this winter. The Rotary Club placed marked boxes at public locations throughout Blanco and Johnson City November through January. The items were gathered up from the collection boxes by Rotarian Joe Kustelski who delivered them to the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas for the Plaza de Paz Respite Center located in San Antonio.

The Rotary Club of San Antonio collected toys to support the Stay Strong Foundation. The Stay Strong Foundation supports families whose children are experiencing pediatric cancer.
Sandy Switzer, Jack Twilley and Leta Garcia, Rotarians from the Blanco County Club, were judges for seven schools in UIL District Competition. Over 400 students from throughout the region competed. The Rotarians were judges for second grade storytelling and fourth grade oral reading and stated they enjoyed meeting each very talented contestant.
