Thinking Locally or Globally? Seeing the Bigger Picture in Rotary
During a recent member satisfaction survey, one anonymous comment stood out: a new-ish member expressed that they didn’t see Rotary as a good fit and felt that the organization wasn’t doing much. This feedback made us realize that they likely weren’t seeing the bigger picture of Rotary’s impact.
The Rotary Club of San Antonio hosted the 7th annual Rotary Day SA on March 22. Rotary Day SA is dedicated to cleaning up and beautifying public parks in San Antonio. The event is open to all District Rotarians. We are very grateful for all Rotarians who joined us in service!
The Rotary Club of San Marcos purchased a four-sided Peace Pole that will be located near San Marcos Springs later this spring. It was dedicated at the Springs on Saturday, March 22 as part of a Bi-National Rotary Conference in San Marcos.
The Hill Country Craft Beer Festival 2025 (HCCBF), presented by The Original Black’s BBQ and hosted by the Rotary Club of New Braunfels, returns to the Historic Stelzenplatz on the Wurstfest Grounds in New Braunfels on Saturday, April 26th.
This year’s festival will feature 35+ Texas craft breweries and wineries pouring over 140 different of beers and wines; live entertainment by Two Tons of Steel, VHS 90s Party Band, and Dwayne Wilson; and delicious foods that pair great with craft beers and wines from four of the top fast-casual eateries in New Braunfels.
Rotarians (Sidney Cox, Norman Eubank and Doug McKenzie) from the Blanco County Club promoted Rotary and the upcoming golf tournament at Blanco Founder's Day. The club is seeking sponsors and golfers for the annual golf tournament which will be held at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco on May 5th.
Rotary Club of Uvalde members & other professionals spent time out of their day communicating how they help the community through their volunteer projects and the importance of networking. This gave the students an opportunity to learn about different career paths, find a mentor or mentee.
Fredericksburg Morning Rotary held its 14th annual Kraut Run in October 2024. For the first 13 years, the club donated funds to local literacy efforts including Books for Babies, dictionaries for fifth grade students, club scholarships and other unspecified local literacy programs.
Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch's commitment to service took an exciting turn during our recent Adopt-A-Spot cleanup. With gloves on and trash bags in hand, a team of five young adults tackled one of our designated areas, determined to make a difference.
Fair Oaks Ranch Rotarians passed out water for thirsty runners and their dogs at the first ever Doggy Fun Run organized by the Police Department. The Fair Oaks Ranch PD organized the event to foster trust, transparency and a sense of well-being in the community. Over 30 runners and their "best friends" participated.
Fredericksburg Nimitz Rotary Club participated in Texas Heritage Vineyard's Bingo & Vino for a Cause event held on March 13th at their tasting room. The Nimitz club provided a taco bar by donation and raffled 4 gift baskets.
The RC of San Antonio Oak Hills and Interact clubs from Clark High School and International School of the Americas volunteered at the annual San Antonio Basura Bash. Volunteers cleaned up trash in the community’s waterways and tributaries. Service Above Self
At their meeting on March 20th, the Rotary Club of Medina County provided a $250 donation to the American Red Cross . Debbie Zabica and Kimberly Culver gave a brief presentation about their smoke alarm project in Medina County as well as their other services, including their assistance with recent fires in Medina and Bandera County - an evacuation point in Bandera and an evacuation shelter in Fredericksburg.
The Ingram Tom Moore Interact Students, along with the Girls Softball Team came out to volunteer with the Pop Up Market Food Bank. The students helped bag food items and distribute them to the community of Kerr County.

Members of the Winston School Interact Club assisted the Airport Rotary Club at their annual Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday, March 22, 2024 at the Petroleum Building. The Interactors helped with the decorations, supervised the silent auction and escorted the guests to the 7th floor where the event took place.
Students from four district high schools were on hand to help at Rotary Day SA at McAllister Park on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The Interact Clubs from Pieper HS, Madison HS, Comfort HS and the Winston School performed such tasks as tree ring and dog park mulching, painting picnic tables, and litter pickup.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Michelle, founder of She Is Intl and Editor-in-Chief of She Is Magazine, hosted her 4th annual mental wellness panel. This year’s theme, inspired by pink flamingos losing their vibrant hue from constantly nurturing others, highlighted the importance of self-care and replenishing one’s spirit.
San Marcos Rotary is hosting a Scramble 4 Scholarships on May 16 at the Kissing Tree Golf Club, San Marcos. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships for area seniors who may attend pursue university or vocational programs.
