The Service Project Center, Rotary’s new hub for everything related to service, is now live. It gives you a better way to manage and share information about your service projects. With service networking moving to this new platform, Rotary Showcase has been retired. All Rotary and Rotaract projects that were posted on Rotary Showcase have been migrated to the Service Project Center, which is being released in phases.
Twelve Rotarians and a handful of Interactors volunteered at the Texas Diaper Bank on Monday, August 5, 2024. The Texas Diaper Bank has been working since 2013 to change the lives of babies, children with disabilities, and seniors in the Greater San Antonio Area and 12 surrounding counties by providing diapers and other items to the community.
The Communities In Schools of San Antonio (CIS-SA) annual Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive provides free school supplies to thousands of underserved students and families throughout the school year. This year several Interact clubs participated in Stuff the Bus by collecting school items at two local HEB stores.
Alamo Ranch and Rotary Club of La Cantera assembled 150 backpacks full of school supplies yesterday evening! We surpassed our goal and our collection of 47 backpacks last year!
Cross Mountain Park will soon have a new entrance and better sidewalk connectivity after the City of Fredericksburg received a donation from the Nimitz Rotary Club. The Parks and Recreation Dept. will remove the existing entrance that leads from the parking lot to the park's main trail.
Rotary Club of New Braunfels Career and Tecnical Education (CTE) Chair Austin Milam recently helped organize a two-day Teacher Summer Externship Program for New Braunfels ISD and Comal ISD teachers in CTE fields to help them gain insight into real-world companies and tailor their curriculum in the classroom to meet the needs of employers. The teachers received credit from their districts for attending.

The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch helped at the "Resource Rally" to guide parents to vaccination and registration stations, school bus and lunch information. Rotarians also passed out free lunch boxes and school supplies to needy families in the Boerne School District.
Fellow Rotarians Rey Sanchez and Gregorio Arrambide, Jr. along with Nathan Villarreal Lisa Gallegos, Rosa Arrambide, aided in separating school supplies and distributed to the Del Rio Elementary Schools.
Rotarians at Fair Oaks Ranch are collaborating to raise money for the Blessings in a Backpack food services program by creating and selling this Fiesta Medal. Rotarian Colette Nosal is the artist and new members June and Kyle Ashley are the sponsors.
The Nimitz Rotary will be holding their 3rd Charity Golf Tournament on October 14, 2024 at Lady Bird Golf Course. This year's proceeds will benefit the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department's General Equipment Fund in Memory of the late Fire Chief Stacy Kuhlmann.
Rotary clubs worldwide have united to support the Ukrainian people, with the Rotary Club of Boerne and the Rotary Club of San Antonio distinguishing themselves as early contributors to humanitarian operations following the outbreak of war in February 2022. Recently, Boerne’s club joined an international coalition of Rotary clubs dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, medical equipment, ambulances, and civilian extraction vehicles.
No matter what the language we are happy to say hello to our inbound students to District 5840 who have arrived for their exchange year with us. Make it a point to cross paths with these intelligent and entertaining young people.
Members of the San Angelo Sunrise Rotary Club voted to continue this program in 2024-2025 to benefit Angelo State University students in need of supplemental food sources while attending the university. Over the past two years, the club has provided $2000 cash to the ASU Food Bank, and food items every fourth week of the month. Club member, Patrick Malloy, is shown making the July 24 delivery.
The Rotary Club of Blanco County presented personal dictionaries to each of the 3rd graders of Blanco Elementary School on August 16. The dictionaries not only contain words and definitions, but also encyclopedia-type information that the students may use as a source for writing various papers or composing stories.
Twenty-four San Marcos Rotarians, Texas State University students and community members packaged school supplies for eight villages in Northern Mexico and child-serving nonprofits in San Marcos on August 30. The event took place at First Christian Church on Ranch Road 12.
In July, the Rotary Club of San Antonio West launched Unlocking Hope: Our Fight to End Alzheimer's—a project to help fund research leading to a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. Rotarians in the club have family members suffering from Alzheimer's or loved ones they lost to this disease.
This last weekend we did our semi annual trash pickup on the highway the rotary club of Kerrville adopted years ago. We had a great group as usual of Rotarians and interact/roteract kids.
The Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club was recently voted “Best of the Best” non-profit clubs for the top volunteer organization in Kendall County by subscribers to “The Boerne Star”. Subscribers could vote for one of five local organizations in this category for the best volunteer non-profit club. This is an annual event sponsored by the local newspaper
The San Antonio Airport Rotary club teamed up with Petri's Place Wildlife Rehab to host a Nocturnal Nights event at the rehab center Saturday, August 10th, 2024. Petri's Place is located in the Southeast side of San Antonio where over an acre of sanctuary space has been created for native urban wildlife to recover and thrive.

The Rotary Club of Medina County is busy with two separate fall fundraising events. Our annual raffle helps support our Bountiful Blessing Thanksgiving meal for senior citizens and veterans and our Share the Joy Christmas event providing meals and gifts for needy families. Only 1600 tickets are being sold for $10 each with an assortment of prizes - see flyer; drawing will take place on November 29th and winners notified within one day.
