Our March Rotary Theme is Water & Sanitation. There are many Global Grants that address this critical issue all over the world and right here at home. As Rotarians know, these grants can be completed in any country of the world, as long as there are at least two Rotary Clubs willing to donate funds, which can then be matched through their District and Rotary International upon approval. District 5840 has been a partner in several of these types of grants. If your club is interested in getting involved with a Global Grant which is focused on water and sanitation, check out www.myrotary.org to find an international partner who wants to help make the dream of safe water a reality. There are also Rotary Action Groups you can support. These are listed on www.MyRotary.org too!
It is a tragic and sad time for the people of Ukraine and the world. At Rotary, we are deeply concerned by the deteriorating situation in Ukraine and the escalating loss of life and humanitarian hardship there. Continued military action against Ukraine will not only devastate the region, but also risk spreading tragic consequences across Europe and the world.

Several of you have asked about what Rotary is doing in support of the humanitarian crises brewing in Eastern Europe. Here’s what’s been released so far:
Rotary is in contact with the United Nations High Commission on Refugees – USA to prepare and respond to the needs of those being displaced in Ukraine and to neighboring countries.
ShelterBox, our project partner for disaster response, is in communication with Rotary members in Eastern Europe to explore how it may offer support with temporary transitional housing and other essential supplies.
An important goal to a Club is to achieve geting media attention for their upcoming fundraiser/service project. The first step is to create a press release. Once developed, it is your "bible" for the language that is used for your website, social media and flyers.
Rotary Rockstar Challenge - Level 5 is about how to create a Press Release.
We’re excited to announce that the Rotary District 5840 – Annual Share Fund raffle tickets are now available! If you’re familiar with this amazing raffle, then you know how much our annual go-to fundraiser is to The Rotary Foundation’s mission. The money raised during this time comes back to our District and funds our District Grants (important, right?!).
