The end of March marks the completion of the 3rd quarter in this Rotary year. If you think things are starting to slow down, think again. I started the month coming back from Lone Star PETS where we began preparing to bring the Magic of Rotary to D5840 under the leadership of DGE Kristen Salazar. There is something to be said about attending PETS and getting inspired by the fellowship across 9 Districts in Texas and 1 in Oklahoma.

What was your most memorable Rotary service project? Every year my club, North Central Rotary, deliveries ingredients for a full Thanksgiving Turkey dinner to families in our community. We purchase the food, bag the items for delivery, and deliver directly to the family’s homes. Seeing the appreciation and joy from the families is such a personal reward and knowing they will have a wonderful meal during their holiday.
On Monday, March 25th Rotarians from throughout District 5840 came together at the Witte Museum to celebrate members with 20+ Years of Membership. It was a full house! Highlight of the event was the celebration of members with 50+ Years of Rotary Service! These members were identified by blue sashes with 50 Years, as well as a special lapel pin and 50 Year tab.

Erica McFarland, District 5840 Global Education Grant Scholar, and Monica Gutierrez, District 5840 Governor, got to visit in Vancouver, Canada, where Erica is studying Maternal and Child Heath for a Masters degree. Monica was there for the RI North American Youth Conference in Vancouver. The is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch and the Rotary Club of Arbutus in Vancouver.
The Rotary Club of San Marcos sponsored a well attended Casino Night fundraiser on March 1. It was held at the Commemorative Airforce Museum at San Marcos Airport.
International Women's Day was March 8, and our club celebrated by recognizing all the women members of our club at the meeting last Wednesday. There are thirty nine women in the Kerrville Noon Rotary Club, but it hasn't always been this way.

The Beeville Rotary members continue their service project of helping the homeless with towels and toiletries. Club members are actively engaged in this "service above self" community outreach. Thank you, Nickelle, the Hilton Garden Inn, and Kenneth for your participation.
Every week, Fair Oaks Ranch Rotarians fill their vehicles with day-old bread that is donated by a local grocer. The members then deliver the food to the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministry, which then fills the bellies of Boerne area needy people.
The Rotary Club of Blanco County was a silver event sponsor of the First Annual Blanco Founder's Day held March 23. Rotarians supervised children's games and promoted the club by providing free bottled water and information on joining Rotary and the projects in Blanco County and beyond.

The Rotary Club of New Braunfels Scholarship Program received 77 applications, 68 four-year and 9 CTE, during the recent application period ending March 15th. As part of Rotary International's mission and vision, the Rotary Club of New Braunfels offers academic scholarships to graduating high school seniors in New Braunfels who are seeking a four-year degree, two year degree or certification, or a CTE education or certification.
