The Rotary Club of Medina County awarded over $8,000 in scholarships to area youth in the last few months. Funds were raised by our 2024 God’s Country BBQ event and from the club’s budget; the majority of the scholarships were presented at their respective schools’ end of year awards ceremonies.
President-Elect Johnette Dixon presented D’Hanis winners with their awards. Lexie Vernor won the Jim Danner Scholarship and Abigail Arnett won the Rotary Service Scholarship.

Hondo students Grace Wilson and Faith Hernandez received, respectively, the Ann Peden Scholarship and the Service Scholarship.
Medina Valley student, Jaxon Calvert, was awarded the Tim Gillis Scholarship by President Scott Dixon. Darren Calvert from the board of the Medina Valley Education Foundation presented Jaxon Calvert (no relation) with an additional scholarship.
