Rotary Club of Alamo Ranch's commitment to service took an exciting turn during our recent Adopt-A-Spot cleanup. With gloves on and trash bags in hand, a team of five young adults tackled one of our designated areas, determined to make a difference.
Over the course of the cleanup, we collected a staggering 17 bags of trash, restoring a little more beauty to our community and ensuring a cleaner habitat for the birds and deer that call it home.
But what’s a Rotary service project without a little fun? To spice things up—literally—we turned our cleanup into a competition. The volunteer who collected the least amount of trash (by weight) would face the ultimate fiery fate: eating the infamous 4 Horsemen Burger at Chunky’s, the apocalyptic challenge made famous by Travel Channel’s Man v. Food. Dubbed the “Hottest Burger on the Planet”, it’s a gut-wrenching consequence for slacking on trash duty!
Laughter, teamwork, and a touch of friendly rivalry made this service project more than just an environmental effort—it was an adventure. As Rotarians, we know that service doesn’t have to be dull; it can be engaging, rewarding, and yes, even a little fiery.
After all, one of Rotary’s core areas of focus is the environment, and we’re proud to do our part in keeping our community clean—one bag (or one bite of extreme heat) at a time.
