What makes this project especially unique is the emphasis on new books. Thanks to Texian Books, a Rotary-owned business, donors receive a generous 20% discount on any book contributed to the library. The goal is not to compete with existing free-standing used-book libraries, but to provide children with a special experience—fresh, new stories they can cherish and memorable moments sparked by reading.
The project doesn’t stop when the holidays end. The Little Free Library will continue serving children throughout the year, helping nurture imagination, learning, and literacy in the community. To make the experience even richer, the service project also includes a weekly two-hour Children’s Reading Hour held on Saturdays, inviting kids to gather, listen, learn, and fall in love with books.
