Our Rotary Clubs do amazing service in our communities and across the globe. As I visit our Rotary Clubs I ask about their service projects and I hear wonderful stories of service. Stories about feeding the homeless, stories about helping homeless school children with supplies and special tutoring, stories about literacy programs in our communities and Mexico, stories about park and highway cleanup, And many more!
Our Rotary Clubs do amazing service Internationally in India with literacy, in Africa with safe water, in Mexico with eye surgeries and Columbia helping provide health care for Venezuelan refugees. We travel to remote parts of the globe to bring hope and peace. And much more!
We are People of Action!
This month Christians around the World celebrate the birth of Jesus. Rotarians come from many faith traditions and I ask that we celebrate in our own tradition, and honor the faith traditions of other Rotarians and people around the world. This is Service Above Self!!!! This is the action that promotes Peace.
As I listen to Rotarians talk about their service projects and watch their faces as they discuss their service projects I can feel the positive energy that comes from giving. If our hands, our hearts and our minds are open we give. If our hands, our hearts and our minds are open we receive to give again.
