Thank you Ambassador Sichan Siv for kindly welcoming Rotary Club of San Antonio President Steve Darling, Rotarian and CEO of World Affairs Council and Public Image Chair Cindy Urshan to visit the Fabian Dale Dominguez State Jail of the Texas Criminal Justice Department to learn about its comprehensive rehabilitation and reintegration programs.
We are so grateful for the insights of Senior Warden Alonzo Hammond and Major A. Aaron Bales; as well as the opportunity to discuss our #Rotary mission of #ServiceAboveSelf and our Rotary Ice Rink, aka, Rink With A Purpose, with Inmate Peer Advisors; tour the facilities including the Veteran Dorm, and join a praise and worship session.
Our visit began with learning the legacy of Police Officer Fabian Dale Dominguez who heroically died in service to his neighbors. As we met with inmates, Ambassador Siv shared words of encouragement and his own inspiring journey in discovering #Life, #Love and #Leadership through #Hope. We continued our discussion on the value of #TransformationalCollaborations and Community partnerships over a holiday meal of chicken, red beans and rice prepared by the inmates.
