The Rotary Club of Wimberley gave out hundreds of free books to community children during this Year's Halloween on the Square event. Many parents and
grandparents reported that their children look forward to this giveaway each year.
Some kids sat down nearby to read their new books instead of seeking more candy. A group spokesperson said this event is made possible by
generous donations from the chapter's sponsors (sign included). The focus of the local Rotary Club is Literacy, and members host several giveaways
during the year, tutor struggling readers, grant scholarships, and sponsor reading/ writing contests.
