District Governor Kristy Vandenberg's February Message
Here's a toast to Peace & Conflict Resolution Month!  This is one of our seven Areas of Service!  What can all District 5840 Clubs do?
  • Partner with adjacent Clubs on bigger and better Service Projects!
  • Promote all clubs with regional news media.
  • Look for ways to get your club involved with an International Service Project.
  • Support the Rotary Youth Exchange program by sponsoring an outbound student or hosting an inbound student!
  • Work with clubs in other Districts close to #5840 on Service Projects,
  • Participate in a Global Grant!  You can be a partner in a grant that already has an idea that will make a lasting impact, but needs additional funding from other Rotary Clubs!  Check out the list of Global Grants requesting financial support on myrotary.org.
Limited time only: Save on the 2022 Rotary International Convention
In response to questions and concerns raised by members worldwide, we are pleased to announce that the Rotary International Board of Directors has confirmed that the 2022 Rotary International Convention will be an in-person event 4-8 June in Houston, Texas, USA. We are excited to offer a special registration rate of US$495 through 28 February. 
2022-23 Presidential Theme Revealed

Rotary International President-elect Jennifer Jones wants members to imagine the possibilities in the change they can make to transform the world.

Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, revealed the 2022-23 presidential theme, Imagine Rotary, as she urged people to dream big and harness their connections and the power of Rotary to turn those dreams into reality.

District Raffle Tickets Are Now Available!!!
We’re excited to announce that the Rotary District 5840 – Annual Share Fund raffle tickets are now available! If you’re familiar with this amazing raffle, then you know how much our annual go-to fundraiser is to The Rotary Foundation’s mission. The money raised during this time comes back to our District and funds our District Grants (important, right?!).
The Indoor Ride to End Polio included 25 teams with approximately 250 participants. The highest Indoor Ride fundraiser award goes to Calgary West, where 34 clubs helped raise more than $91,000. Second place went to Stoughton, WI who raised more than $27,000. In total, the Indoor Ride, including all sites, raised a record $505,642 (all figures quoted with the Gates Match).
San Marcos Celebrates 100th Anniversary
The Rotary Club of San Marcos hosted a 100th Anniversary Banquet on Friday, January 14, 2022 in the Embassy Suites Ballroom, San Marcos.
SA South Provides Scholarships for Vocational School
Scholarships are needed year-round. Many students at vocational schools need just that little extra push to help them over the line to success.

International Clean Water Project
Oak Hills Rotary Club with the Nueva Rosita Centenario and Coronado Binacional Rotary clubs in Mexico partnered together to deliver a water purifying plant.
Kerrville's Main Event Fundraiser
Happy New Year! I hope 2022 holds great promise for us all! One way that we can ensure that we are able to serve our community and bring a little joy and promise, is to have a successful Main Event and raffle.
Randolph Metrocom Holds Pints For Polio Event
Members of the Randolph Metrocom Rotary Club gathered to Willie’s in Cibolo to bring awareness and raise funds for Polio Plus.  

Golf for Polio Plus!
Rotary Club of Hondo-D'Hanis is hosting a Golf Tournament on March 26th at the Alsatian Golf Course in Castroville, TX.

Paul Harris Award
Congratulations to Deb Bowen from the Fredericksburg-Nimitz Rotary Club who received her Paul Harris Plus Ruby Award! Deb is a dedicated Rotarian who exemplifies Service Above Self.
Bottle Caps to Mexico
Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary Club representatives Greg and Carmen Buschman, spent their holiday season transporting thousands of plastic bottle caps to a charity in Juarez Mexico which recyles them to earn money for the families of children in the hospital.
Human Trafficking Education
The Satellite Club to Combat Human Trafficking has taken on the huge task of educating all clubs in the District on what they can do towards eradicating this horrible crime to humanity.
Kerrville Wears Blue
Did you know that Rotary is getting involved in the #fighthumantrafficking awareness initiative and putting the power and resources of 35K clubs and 1.2 million members behind this effort?
Youth Putting Green
The Roy Maas Youth Alternatives Home in Boerne, now has a putting green for their residents thanks to the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch with some assistance from a District grant.

Oak Hills Rotary at Earn-A-Bike
On December 11, 2021, members of Oak Hills Rotary volunteered during the Earn-A-Bike for the Holidays event in Harlandale ISD.
Art Education Continues
The Blanco County Rotary members Jack Twilley, Leta Garcia (artist), Jan Gass, Jayne Lightfoot, and Betsy Scheffe (artist), and the teacher, Ms Rosalind Ellis who started the “ART for our Students” met to discuss second semester projects and schedules.
